Review of the PP stockings

Yesterday I bought a pair of nude PP stretch stockings for 6 AUD from my local Target.

I opened the pack up and instantly did a sick in my mouth, they didn’t look great, I won’t lie.

I took them home after work and tried them on and I have to say that, despite my initial reaction of disgust, I was pleasantly surprised. Before I start, they are not nylons, they don’t look like nylons, they don’t feel like nylons, they are nothing like nylons, however I want to share with the ladies (and gentlemen) among us who love to wear stockings on a daily basis but don’t have a CEO’s salary.

1. The look: 6/10

Well I have to say that from the knee down, paired with a skirt or dress, they look pretty good. They have a nice shine to them and the colour is spot on, just the way I like my nudes. Above the knee however is different, The welts are very thin and don’t even start to resemble the traditional fully fashioned stockings that I love to wear. I have very long legs for a lady as well so they come up a bit short on me. This is not too much of a problem if I wear a long strapped girdle.

2. The feel: 6/10

The feel better than tights and because they are a ‘one size fits all’ style, they are not tight around the top of my thighs. The nylon swish just isn’t there though …

3. Practicality: 9/10

For a clumsy lady like me, these are perfect, I have caught sharp edges on them several times this morning and so far, no snags or ladders.

4. Value for Money: 10/10

Hell yeah! They are 6 AUD!

I am going to stock up on a few pairs of these and explore other shops to see what they have available. I think I might make these my daily work wear and save my beautiful nylons for evenings and weekends. I urge you all to buy a pair of cheap stockings and try them out. Let me know if you do and how you get on!

  1. I’m a vintage girl who wears girdles and stockings every single day without fail. So its nice to know there are affordable alternatives out there for when I’m just casually going about my routine and don’t want to risk laddering my precious fully fashioned nylons. Sadly however, I don’t live in Australia. But we do have Target stores here in the USA and I’m definitely paying them a visit on my next shopping trip! Now if only you could find a source for vintage-inspired girdles that won’t break my bank account. Btw, love your blog.

    • Thanks for your comment! This has made me so happy! I am pleased to hear of another lady who wears good underwear every day. I am terrible with my stockings, although getting better. These bargain stockings are perfect for day to day wear and if you rip them, it won’t break your heart as much as if you ripped your FF nylons! You should be able to find this kind of underwear and cheap stockings in any large store and even some supermarkets. I have some tips for girdles as well, which I will publish soon. Keep it up and I would love to see some pictures if you do end up buying something! Happy to publish a review if you would like to write one 🙂
