Victory Theatre Antique Centre

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I boarded a train from central Sydney, and endured the two hour journey to the Blue Mountains. Anticipating a long walk through the famous mountains, I dressed in leggings, sneakers and one of my boyfriend’s t-shirts… I need not have bothered because we spent all afternoon raiding an antiques shop rather than walking through the mountains. I should mention that we have since been back and actually walked around parts of the mountains…

Some people love online shopping, others prefer high-street shopping, but there is nothing I like more than sorting through a vintage clothing shop, I never know what I’m going to find. Initially when we started walking around the Victory Theatre Antique Centre, I thought it was just a standard antiques centre, full of the usual jewellery, dated homeware and bric-a-brac items. However, hidden away in a corner of the first floor, was a little vintage clothing and accessories section; it was amazing, I had to  actually compose myself. This place has everything I want in a vintage store, it houses a large range of items, some things that I have never seen before, and despite this centre being two hours away from Sydney, is now my favourite clothing shop in Australia.

This shop had (and I say had because it no longer has these items, thanks to us) the biggest collection of genuine vintage shapewear that I have ever seen in one place. This photo, shows how much underwear we bought from this shop (I actually struggle to carry it all as it weighs so much!):

There was a lovely vintage Playtex cone bra which I would have loved to own but was unfortunately a B cup, which is way too small for me. I found another bra, which fits like a glove, as well as a handful of stockings which I have already blogged about here. I will of course be sharing these items with all of you in my future posts.

This shop contains some absolutely beautiful items from various eras from the early 1900s to the 1990s. I have bought several dresses, skirts, hats, pieces of underwear, stockings bags, gloves and jewellery from this shop, and I will probably buy a lot more, especially if the owner continues to add more beautiful stock that fits me perfectly! I should also add that there is a range of men’s clothing as well, so both men and women should check this place out.

The below dress is stunning, I can’t understand why it is still there! If I were small enough to fit into it, I would be wearing it RIGHT NOW!

If anyone wishes to go and explore this brilliant shop with me, let me know and I am more than happy to go back any time!

  1. There is nothing like a good rummage. Fun, fun and more fun, especially when the rewards are so satisfying xx
